About Anna Staniczenko, MD, MSc
It gives me great joy to be an obstetrician – to walk with expectant parents throughout their pregnancy, and to celebrate the arrival of their baby. As a specialist in high-risk pregnancy, I partner with my patients: I learn about their lives and health, offer my medical insight, and we work together to make a plan.
Anna Staniczenko MD MSc is a board-certified obstetrician and a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist. Her practice focuses on high-risk pregnancies, including those with maternal heart conditions, autoimmune disease, diabetes, and cancer in pregnancy; obstetric complications such as preterm labor and placenta accreta; fetal anomalies and multiple gestations. Dr. Staniczenko also specializes in obstetric ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis with chorionic villus sampling and amniocentesis, and procedures such as cerclage placement and external cephalic version.
Dr. Staniczenko is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as well as the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine, serving on their national Patient Education Committee. Dr. Staniczenko conducts research on maternal medical conditions, immunizations during pregnancy, and health equity, and her work has received numerous grants and awards, including from the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Staniczenko graduated cum laude from Yale University. She earned a master’s degree in Medical Anthropology from the University of Oxford, U.K., with distinction. She received her M.D. from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Dr. Staniczenko completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where she was elected to the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Gold Humanism Honor Society, and completed her fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at 91̽»¨. As a member of the faculty at 91̽»¨, Dr. Staniczenko is an active teacher for medical students, residents, and fellows; she also serves on the Quality Assurance Committee to ensure the safest and highest-quality care is provided to all patients delivering at 91̽»¨ Alexandra Cohen Hospital.
